Ingredients for Pasta & Pasta Sauce:

1/2 Package of brown rice pasta

1/2 Large white onion (Chopped)

2 Cloves fresh garlic (Chopped)

2 Cup tomato basil pasta sauce

1 Cup shredded chicken (*You can buy a small rotisserie chicken from your grocery store for this.)

1 Cup cherry tomatoes

1 Tsp. paprika

1 Tsp. cayenne

2 Tbsp. chopped basil

1 Tbsp. parsley

Ingredients for Raw Mint Pesto:

1/4 Cup fresh mint

1/4 Cup fresh green kale

1/4 Cup raw walnuts

1/4 Cup fresh parmesan

2 Tsp. fresh lemon juice

1/8 Tsp. sea salt

Black pepper. (As desired)

Directions: (Approximate cook time: 25 minutes; Serves 2-3 adults.)

  1. Follow the cooking directions on your package of Brown Rice Pasta. (Have your pasta cooking while you prepare the pasta sauce & raw mint pesto.)

  2. Next, take the grapeseed oil & chopped onions, and place them in a medium-sized stovepan over medium heat; Cook onions until softened, for about 5-7 minutes.

  3. Add in the fresh minced garlic, and cook until it becomes aromatic. (About 1 min.)

  4. Toss in the shredded chicken, halved cherry tomatoes, chopped fresno peppers, a dash of black pepper, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  5. To complete the sauce, add in your tomato basil pasta sauce, along with the spices & herbs; Turn down your heat to medium-low, and cook everything for 3 minutes.

  6. Next, take the cooked brown rice pasta, and mix evenly with your pasta sauce.

  7. For the raw mint pesto, take all of your ingredients and blend them together into a food processor/blender until well incorporated; serve the pasta onto a plate, and then top your pesto onto the pasta (as shown in the picture).

  8. Eat & enjoy!

What you need:

1 15oz. Can organic pizza sauce

1 14oz. Organic pizza crust

8oz. Sweet italian chicken & turkey sausage, sliced

1 Cup fresh basil

1 Cup grape tomatoes (Cut into quarters)

1/4 Cup red onion, chopped

1 Tomato, sliced

1 Portobello mushroom cap, roughly cut

2 Garlic cloves

Cup fresh spinach leaves

2 Tsp. italian seasoning

1 Tsp. grapeseed oil

Pinch of sea salt

Directions: (Approximate cook time: 20 minutes; Serves 4-6 adults.)

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

  2. Pour pizza sauce into a food processor, adding your basil, grape tomatoes, garlic, italian seasoning & salt; Blend thoroughly until mixed evenly.

  3. Next, lightly brush grapeseed oil on crust, and place on pizza pan/tray.

  4. Spread the sauce onto the crust generously, and add sausage & veggies.

  5. Next, turn the oven down to 425 degrees F, and place pizza in oven; Bake for 10-12 minutes.

  6. Remove pizza from the oven when crust becomes golden brown; Serve immediately.

What you need:

2 Chicken breasts, diced

3 Eggs

3 Egg whites

3 Mushrooms, chopped

2 Tomatoes, sliced

1 Onion, chopped

1 Garlic clove, chopped

½ Head of broccoli (Cut into small pieces.)

½ Zucchini, sliced

½ Capsicum, chopped

½ Tsp. salt

Mixed herbs (Oregano, Basil, and Pepper)

  1. Preheat the oven to 180º F.

  2. On the stovetop, take your chicken, onion and garlic, and cook them in a frying pan on high for about 3-4 minutes; Remove, and set aside.

  3. Next, whisk the eggs in a bowl, and mix in your chicken, onion, and garlic medley with all additional ingredients. (Except for the tomato slices.)

  4. Pour the bowls contents into a glass/casserole dish and place slices of tomato on the top.

Hi Tasty25ers! I’ve got a great new recipe for our food conscious community today that includes fresh tomatoes, oregano, basil, garlic, and much more… It’s my 10 Minute Homemade Pasta Sauce! It’s full of fresh, delicious ingredients, and goes perfectly with whole grain pasta or spaghetti. Store bought sauces can contain high amounts of sodium, fat, and artificial ingredients that are counterproductive to a healthy nutrition lifestyle; so instead of going to the supermarket or grocery store and buying an expensive, processed pasta sauce, be food conscious and give my recipe a try! What you need:

3 Cups finely chopped tomatoes

1 Tbsp. oregano

1 Tbsp. basil

Tbsp. cilantro

1 Tbsp. minced garlic

1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil

2 Tsp. sea salt (Separated into individual teaspoons.)

Black pepper (To taste.)

Directions: (Approximate cook time: 10 minutes; Serving size – 2-4 adults)

  1. First, heat the olive oil in a saucepan, and sauté the garlic and 1 Tsp. of salt for 30 seconds.

  2. Next, take your finely chopped tomatoes and add them to the saucepan; You’re going to bring the liquid to a fast simmer and cook for about 5 minutes.

  3. After it simmers for a bit, blend or chop up the tomatoes. You can use a hand blender to coarsely puree the tomatoes, use a large spoon to mash them up right in the pot, or transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor fire a fine & smooth texture.

  4. Season to taste with the remaining Tsp. of salt, and add your oregano & cilantro; You’re going to continue mashing or pureeing the tomatoes until the sauce is coarse but smooth.

  5. Simmer your sauce for another 2-3 minutes, then add your basil and black pepper to preferred taste.

  6. Finally, bring stovetop to low heat, and cover until you’re ready to serve!

  7. Eat & enjoy!

8 Slices whole-wheat bread

8 Oz. thinly sliced reduced-sodium deli turkey

8 Tomato slices

2 Tbsp. reduced-fat mayonnaise

2 Tbsp. nonfat plain yogurt

2 Tbsp. shredded parmesan cheese

2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil

1 Tsp. lemon juice

2 Tsp. extra-virgin olive oil

Freshly ground pepper (To taste.)

Directions: (Approximate cook time: 15 minutes; Serves 4 adults.)

  1. Have a 2 medium skillets and four unopened, 15-ounce cans ready by the stove. (Tasty25 Staff Note: The cans will be used to weigh down the top skillet on the sandwiches to make them into panini; If you have a panini maker, use it instead.)

  2. Combine mayonnaise, yogurt, parmesan cheese, basil, lemon juice and some pepper in a small bowl; Spread about 2 Tsp. of the mixture on each slice of bread.

  3. Divide turkey and tomato slices among 4 slices of bread; Top with the remaining bread.

  4. Heat 1 Tsp. of olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat; Place 2 panini in the pan, put the other medium skillet on top of the panini, then weigh it down with the cans.

  5. Cook the panini until golden on one side, about 2 minutes; Reduce the heat to medium-low, flip the panini, replace the top skillet and cans, and cook until the second side is golden, for about 1-3 more minutes.

  6. Repeat the process with the 2 remaining panini and 1 Tsp. of olive oil; Serve warm.

  7. Eat & enjoy!

Half of a 1/2-pound loaf whole-wheat French or Italian bread

1 Garlic clove, cut in half

2 Large ripe tomatoes, cored and chopped

1/2 Cup shredded mozzarella cheese (about 2 ounces)

1/2 Tbsp. olive oil

1/2 Tsp. dried oregano, crumbled

1/8 Tsp. freshly ground pepper

1/4 Cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Olives, mushrooms, Italian sausage, etc. (OPTIONAL)

Directions: (Approximate cook time: 15 minutes; Serves 2 adults)

Bread Instructions:

  1. Heat broiler.

  2. Cut bread in half lengthwise; Then scoop out and discard the soft center.

  3. Place bread cut side up on an ungreased baking sheet and toast in the broiler, 5 to 6 inches from heat, until lightly browned, 3 to 4 minutes..

  4. Remove bread and rub with garlic.

While bread is cooking:

  1. In a small bowl, combine tomatoes, mozzarella, olive oil, oregano, and pepper.

  2. Spoon the mixture into each piece of bread and sprinkle with Parmesan.

  3. Broil for 3 minutes.
